During our first session we will both learn a bit about each other, speak about your background, current reasons for seeking therapy, and what the therapeutic process will look like. The first session is a combination of conversation and Q&A. Clients are welcomed to ask questions! I understand that the first session or first couple of sessions can feel little scary or awkward. I do my best to make the experience comforting with minimal pressure!
Therapy is often scheduled weekly in the beginning, and progressively less frequent as goals are accomplished and less support is needed/desired. During the initial assessment, the therapist and client will collaborate in deciding the frequency of sessions based clinical factors, financial considerations and more. This can change as needed.
